FINAL BOUT CARD SET
FOR HFN 8
TO FEATURE MMA AND BOXING
HOLLYWOOD FIGHT NIGHT, the only live professional boxing and MMA show in the City of Stars returns to the Florentine Gardens Nightclub with its 8th installment this Thursday, October 30th. Six professional boxing and five professional MMA bouts are scheduled for a special Halloween Edition of the popular Hollywood show.
The MMA portion of the evening will be highlighted by a battle of former amateur champions who have recently joined the professional ranks as Richard LeRoy (1-0) takes on Derion "DC" Chapman (pro debut) and an early Fight of the Night candidate, Thor "TNT" Skanke (5-5) vs. Daniel Clark (2-3).
Sityodtong LA's LeRoy captured the CAMO California State Lightweight Championship and amassed an 8-1 Amateur MMA Record before turning pro with a spectacular 1st round knockout victory over Adrian Bartee on August 8, 2014. Chapman, training out of the House of Champions in Van Nuys, went undefeated as an amateur (6-0) and captured the U of MMA Lightweight Title in the process. LeRoy and Chapman will lock horns Thursday in a 3-round MMA co-feature to determine which amateur standout's pro career takes off.
Choas at the Casino veteran Thor "TNT" Skancke (5-5) has made a name for himself as both an electrifyingly aggressive fighter and a well-respected personal trainer at Tarzana Boxing. His legion of fans will be coming to Hollywood to witness Thor battle Gracie Barra's Daniel "The Dragon" Clark (2-3). If styles make fights, well then this fight will be explosive. Rounding out the MMA portion of the evening will be Dmitry "The Silver Bullet" Gersimov (3-2) vs. Eric Winston (5-2), Matthew Spencer (pro debut) vs. Gabriel Lopez (4-11), and Adel Al Tamimi (pro debut) vs. Christian Bizaretty (0-1).
The boxing portion of the evening will be highlighted with a six round bout between former IBO Middleweight Champion Avtandil "Tornado" Khurtsidze (28-2-2, 17KOs) and perennial spoiler Eddie Hunter 10-10-2. After nearly 3 years out of the ring, Khurtsidze returned with an impressive 1st round knockout of Allen Conyers (12-9) and is attempting to make a run at a World Title. But none of this is impressive to Khurtsidze's opponent Thursday night as Eddie Hunter has won four of six bouts including a career highlight 6th round knockout win over Ronald Hearns (26-4) and an upset of previously undefeated Mayweather Promotions prospect Lanell Bellows (6-0-1).
Similar to all Hollywood Fight Night shows, Wildcard Boxing Club will be well represented as a trio of boxers, Stanyslav Skorokhod (7-0), Urmat Ryskeldiev (9-3-1, 5KOs), and Minju Shin (1-0) seek to defend their home court in Hollywood. Rounding out the card will be a local battle of lightweights as Davon "Danger" Smith from Baldwin Hills takes on Reseda's Alim Jumakhonov.
